| Notes: | Dec 31, 11 - Commodus was a hateful guy. Even his closest friends and family were involved in secret plots to off him. And his wife Crispina was no exception. When her involvement in one of these plots was uncovered the emperor had her sent off to a faraway island where she could starve to death while considering what she'd done. That was a typically Roman way of justice.
Coins of Crispina are fairly hard to come by. It's not that they're unheard of but they're nowhere near as frequent as those of her other male contemporaries. And one in this condition even less so. |
