| Notes: | Aug 26, 05 - Constantius Gallus made it as far as Caesar under Constantius II before being recalled for being too harsh on his subjects. He thought he was going over to his boss to get that coveted promotion to Augustus but instead found on arrival he was under arrest. Fallen from grace it was only a brief period before he was sent off to be killed.
Although his bronzes are fairly numerous even in uncleaned coin lots finding them in anything but marginal grade is a different story and are rather pricey. This one can't pretend to a lofty grade but its being so wildly off-struck and the uncommon reverse caught my eye. | ||||
