About this seller
Notes:Jul 4, 11 - His Dad Septimius Severus called him the weaker of his two sons and supposedly predicted that the stronger, Caracalla, would eventually succeed in killing him. Apocryphal historical anecdote or not this is exactly what happened. No sooner than the old man was laying on the pyre Caracalla was licking his chops at offing his little brother. Geta had his men too and did what he could to stave off Caracalla's plans but in the end he fell for an ambush on the pretext of a 'peace summit'. He must have been about 20 years old at the time of his death.

His coins show him steadily growing up from a little kid, such as in this one, up until his death when he had started growing a beard. One could easily collect a coin featuring his portrait for each year he was in power and watch him grow like a slideshow!
