| Notes: | Sep 13, 08 - You can almost feel bad for Titus. As an emperor he had a bad rap coming in under the shadow of his popular Dad, dealing with a fire in Rome and also with the volcanic eruption that wiped out Pompeii. Life's a bitch, as they say, and then you die. And so did Titus just as soon as he was able to start getting things under control.
To his credit he finished the Colosseum and opened it up for the bloody business that would make Rome infamous forever hence. The majority of his coins were minted during the reign of his father Vespasian. This one was made shortly after attaining the title of emperor. |
