[...] AV, crowned, draped, and cuirassed facing bust, holding globus cruciger in right hand / Large XX; star between; RAV. DOC 135 corr. (globus cruciger, not cross); Ranieri 527; Ravenna 175; MIB 113; SB 707 corr. (same). extremely fine .Greeen patina very Rare. DOC and SB note that Phocas holds a cross rather than globus cruciger. Better examples, however, show that this is not correct. |
