| Notes: | Aug 23, 05 - I can only guess that if she really looked this Tomboy-ish she wasn't in the running for "Miss Rome", but who am I to judge?
Antonia was Claudius's Mom and, good boy that he was, he gave her the Augusta title posthumously and made several million coins to commemorate her memory. Nowadays finding one of these is not so simple because most never survived the melting pot and of those that did they had to endure a couple thousand years underground. And this is more or less what they look like when unearthed and cleaned up. That is to say, not much to look at. But hey, whadda you want for twenty bucks? |
