| Notes: | Dec 21, 07 - From the same Cottenham hoard group I bought on Ebay which includes the Marius, this Tetricus is in remarkably good shape. The coins of Tetricus show up in the market almost always in a very sorry shape. It's not that they weather worse than other coins of their time, it's that they were manufactured, for the most part, with very low quality standards. A good amount of these were made, it appears, by other than official mints; the so-called "barbarous" and "semi-barbarous" issues. In all, the bottom line is that coins of this guy hardly ever show up nicer than this... too bad the reverse is such a disgrace!
