Tantalus FAQ

Grids - what fields do the grids pull information from?

Roman Imperial and Byzantine: These grids are laid out from left to right across in chart form with the first emperor or family member by date - so when creating the grid, Tantalus will be looking for the "RULER" field to be populated.

British: This grid is laid out from left to right by date in reign. Tantalus will be looking for the "MONARCH" field to match.

US - Statehood Quarters: Grid is laid out from left to right beginning with the first statehood quarter issued. Tantalus searches for these fields to be populated:
series=state (or statehood)
denomination=quarter (or 25 cents)
date=date from 1999-2008
variety=state name

US - Lincoln Cents and Indian Head/Flying Eagle: Grid is laid out left to right beginning with 1909. Tantalus is searching for the following field matches:

denom=cent or penny
date
mintmark

Lincoln Head Cents also matches : series = (case-insensitive) match on "Lincoln"
Indian Head Cents also matches: series = (case-insensitive) match on "Indian"

A coin needs to have data in the series field to show up in the Indian Head grids. This can be “Indian”, “iNdiaN” “IndianHead”, “Indian Head” etc.

US - Morgan Dollars: Tantalus is looking for the following information:

denom=dollar
date
mintmark
also variety = 7 or 8 tail feathers (for those coins that apply)
