Re: Please HELP MY .... Philip II

I am sorry to say that I am pretty sure this coin is a modern reproduction. The beardon the obverse and the horse and rider on the reverse don't look right to me. Additionally, I think the roughness on the obverse is due to casting. I hope I am wrong.

If real, the coin is probably worth between $400-$800. If the coin is fake, it is worth $10-$15.

Regards,

Matt

I think Matt is right and something very similar is on Forgery Network:

Your coin may be a cast copy of a Bulgarian reproduction.

I hope you can get your money back!

Aidan.

Unfortunately, I am in agreement with the other two posters. Looks like a cast copy to me as well. I'd call this a dangerous fake though...it is more convincing to me than the non-cast example posted by ethnucoins.

OK, thank you for the information.

Re: Please HELP MY .... Philip II

I'd doubt the authenticity of yours as the obverse in particular looks cast rather than struck.
