Ras,

I just deleted a bunch of them that were dated the 17th of October, perhaps they were just dated wrong due to time zone stuff?

And some fresh ones today, man these guys are annoying. Do they really think spamming is an effective business model? I suppose it must work somehow, or they wouldn't take the time to do it. What idiots follow these links?

ok guys, i will get the programmers to look into this again. i got one in chinese this morning too. scott, don't think any one guy is taking the trouble to write those spams. well, one did of course, it's just that afterwards they use a program called a bot (for robot) that then goes out to thousands of websites and repeats a script to insert the message in as many boards as possible. this is the bane of message board admins because as soon as you plug one loophole they think of another exploit.

for this we came up with a captcha system (the enter the code above thing). bots can't decipher it so the system denies their comment. but clever bot scripts think of ways around it. it's fascinating the strategies they use really. i gotta give them credit for how inventive they get. but not so much that it's worth me getting the spam myself ;-)

i'm heading off to africa soon for a few weeks of safari. i really hope to have tantalus as stable as possible. while i'm gone i will leave the site to the care of my trusty programmers and for everyday admin i still expect to be reachable by email though it might take me a day or two.

my email is rasiel at dirtyoldbooks.com

Ras,

I've turned off the comments from my accountg. This moring I was hit with 15 comments on 4 coins. All of them were in some type of asian characters.

Don't know why this is being done or whatg purpose it serves but if people want to comment on the coin thay can still use the messages.

Matt
