Thumbs up Biblical Coins

Excellent site Ras, great idea and well executed!

Any thoughts on additional coin categories?

I'd particularly like a Biblical one?

Good Luck with Tantalus!

Default Judaean solution

Many sites struggle with where to put Judaean coinage. I have seen it lumped in with Greek coins and other sites place Judaean into Roman Provincial areas. Another category such as "Holyland coins" would provide a place for Biblical coinage as well as other Judaean issues.

i do intend to add a judaean template - probably my best guesstimate would be 6 weeks from now. i'm open to suggestions on what unique fields would differentiate it from the rest of the templates.

if we wanted to get very fancy we could add a hebrew character selector but it would push back the date for completion quite a bit. i'm not sure that there is even a need for hebrew script within the template but i'm open to any reasonable suggestions here.

Default Thoughts...

IMHO,

Hebrew script would be overkill for most users. As far as unique fields for Judaean coinage...it might be nice to note any Biblical connections with some coins. Many people get into Judaean coinage mainly for the Biblical aspect. So, a prutah of Porcius Festus could have a Biblical note field allowing the user to put in the relevant Scripture citation, etc.
