![]() Now that the auctions and keyword agent tools seem to be working more or less bug-free what enhancement would you like to see next?
Sorry to whoever wants custom templates - this seems to be a difficult programming task to implement. If you really need a template or field not already available let me know and I'll see what I can do. Other than that, any new features you'd like to see? ras |

![]() Ras,
The thing I would like to see is the ability to have coins in multiple albums. For instance, I would like to be able to list a Dupondius of Hadrian with Galley reverse in both my RIC II and my Ships Albums. If I could use three albums I could List an Arcadius Campgate in my Byzantine, RIC X and Campgate albums Regards, Matt |

That would be great as long as searches didn't pull up multiple listings of the same coin. I'd suggest tweaking the thumbnail info for certain coin types. IMHO some important fields need to be displayed even in the thumbnail view: CELTIC - "Region, Tribe" should show in the thumbnail ROMAN REPUBLIC - "Moneyer" should show in the thumbnail CHINESE - "Ruler" should show in the thumbnail ORIENTAL KINGS - "King" should show in the thumbnail WORLD - "Authority" should show in the thumbnail BRITISH - "Monarch" should show in the thumbnail I also think a tutorial/forum dedicated to using the deep search feature would be nice. I'm not sure I'm getting as much out of that feature as I could & some tips would be nice. Joe W. |

![]() Hi Rasiel:
I think actually you mentioned customed templates in response to my request for fields that are related to: Bi-Metallic Coins & Casino Silver Strikes. Instead of custom templates what about just adding a few fields and key words or categories in existing fields? I have been holding back entering my coins in the hope of a template. However, if items can be added to existing fields and maybe one or two new fields added that may just do the trick. How many fields can be added or can words be added to the existing fields in a form of a drop downs? Joe |

![]() joe, you sure have been patient in waiting for this so i will get you a token template. starting from the medal template, please tell me what fields should be replaced. seeing that this will be a new template, try to make it workable for a token anywhere in the world, not just american tokens - and hopefully not add like 10 new fields!
ok to reply straight to this thread. ras |

![]() Ras,
Since one of the perks of membership is the ability to sell, it would be nice to have an area to sell numismatic books & supplies. I know the main focus of Tantalus is the cataloging of collections, but books & supplies are certainly related to our collecting and will always be something the collector needs. I believe such a new area would make this site even more complete & attractive to collectors & buyers. Joe W. |

I have attached a file.... I used the existing fields and I thought that the template could be named accordingly as a single template... I think I took into consideration everything for the world into one template....and a few new fields.... less than the 10 You might want to have others take a look and or give their input but then again maybe not... About the only thing really new would be the template names and a few others. Take a look and let me know your thoguhts. Joe |

![]() to the first joe - about the custom templates: the attachment did not come through. would you be able to just list things out in a message right here? i will work on getting the templates as requested. let's see what can be done.
to the second joe - expanding past coins into books was a design goal from the beginning but the site got caught up in a lot of bug fixing, tweaks and fleshing out the tools needed by everyone to manage their collections. i'm still interested in expanding not just into books but stamps and other collectibles. artifacts was recently requested as well. the stumbling block here really is one of money to develop the code. it is, to not mince words, a major financial commitment as the code engine would need to be overhauled and follow a prolonged period of testing to make sure new sections play well with the coins. right now paid membership is rather low - only about a couple dozen active members. the income is enough to run the dedicated server and offsite backups as well as to (slowly) add a feature here and there but is all the same a slim war chest to plunk down major cash into adding new modules and their templates... particularly if the investment doesn't increase the membership. i'm still trying to figure out the formula of what it would take to convince coin collectors in general to host their collections here. i know that data entry can be a pain and many users loathe taking pictures of their coins but my thinking has been all along that if i keep upgrading the feature set while holding the membership fees at some point it becomes a "no brainer" to join. it is for this reason i'd prefer to concentrate fully on getting coin collectors of all sorts before spreading myself too thin into other areas. ras |

I believe the functioning snipe tool was a definite step in that direction...I heard some chatter about it on other sites & assume it may have motivated at least a few to join. Joe W. |
