![]() That is what I was thinking, but I can't find the coin anywhere. In my book or even online. I was wanting to make sure I was getting the mint mark right. Thanks for the help. I am curious on if there are any other places to look for this coin.
The other thing is...... what is the rarity of the coin. The Constantine I, RIC VII 199 is rated Scarce. Last edited by Cious : 05-05-2011 at 07:07 PM. |

![]() I don't know where you were looking, but I suggest you buy a copy of ERIC II:
http://www.dirtyoldbooks.com/Encyclo...el-Suarez.html There are many great sources to search online. Other than this site, some of my favorites are: www.wildwinds.com www.vcoins.com www.acsearch.info http://www.catbikes.ch/coinstuff/coi...htm#ricratings Regrading rarity, you need to take the ratings with a grain of salt. Especially for bronze coins and even more so for coins of Constantine and later. The rarity ratings are based on examples in museums and published collections and were compiled a long time ago. At that time, bronze was not actively collected, so there were fewer coins included in the rarity statistics. Additionally, the Balkans opened up to the world after these ratings were published and many more bronze roman coins flooded the market. Regards, Matt |

![]() Most likely the mintmark is SMNB, but has the bottom part worn off. Usually there wouldn't be an SM and a Prima or Secunda in the same mark.
