![]() Would it be possible to compile another template?
I would like one to deal with US tokens & world; US Casino Silver Strikes & World; Bi/Tri Metallic Coins US & world. I think most of the need fields are in the database but at the present moment not one template has all the fields needed and trying to adjust any one template just does not work for my brain ![]() I have a list of what I think ![]() If it is possible, maybe we can share and compile a master list. ![]() Just my thoughts and trying to arrange my coins to place them here. TIA Joe |

![]() Joe,
You can make one for your self. Just go to Manage grids and select the custom grid option at the bottom. Matt |

![]() Matt:
I looked at the grids, but is the grid the same as the entering or adding a new coin screen? Does a grid change to look like the add coin screen? I looked at the grid, experiemented, got a lot of boxes... but I guess I do not really know how it works or the purpose of a grid. Is there explainations anywhere that I can look at? Joe |

![]() Well,
Matt suggested I use grids - I did not have an understanding of grids. However, after looking at what others have created, and the "demo" - I have come to understand. ![]() ![]() ![]() For both Bi-Metallic coins, encased, silver strikes & tokens etc. there are needed fields that are not currently available in the Database. Examples: Metal Composition (AgAu*Ag = Silver/Gold Plated Silver); Alignment (Outer-Inner-Center Ring, Medal Alignment, Coin Alignment); Catalog (Yeoman, Krause, Mishler, Gadory, Schulman, Seaby, Scott); Coin Product (Encased, Piedfort, Test Coin, Test Token, Not-Legal Tender, Re-Strike, Credit Card, Essai, Blister Pack, Belle, Epreuve); Time Period (Mahammedan, Budhist, Jewish, Solar Year); Casino Name & Location; The above are the biggies and the other items can be used with the existing database fields and layouts. To make it simple, probably three additional layouts with shared and additional fields would do the trick: Bi-Metallics, Silver Strikes, Encased and Tokens. I do not think it would take much to add the additional fields to the current templates. Thoughts? ![]() Joe |

![]() joe, you're right in that it wouldn't be very hard to make new templates. i can put this on the to do list but am more intrigued at this point about adding the capability to create entire custom templates from scratch rather than depend on us, the system designers, coming up with a solution that will meet your needs. it's a beefy project though so i can't make any promises it'll happen this week or next and believe me, the programmers have a full plate on current projects.

![]() Rasiel:
Wow, that is WAY more than I had thought a possibility. And yes, it would be a programmers challenge. I could see great potential in that each collector has this problem of finding something specific to their methods and data of their collection. Most have the major fields but it is the "little special fields" that seem problematic. I do hope it is a possibility. Thanks, Joe |

![]() Ras,
I love the idea of custom templates. I would like ity even more if, as we discussed regarding the grids, there was a way for other users to copy and/or share their custom templates. Matt |
